Our project

The Erasmus+ project educates project participants and the local population about aspects of ecology. The Erasmus+ program teaches us to conserve resources, reduce energy consumption, offset carbon emissions, choose environmentally friendly food products and means of transportation. The main goal of the European Union is to inform people about the problems of the modern world and the climate. We act locally and protect globally to make people aware of the current necessity for civic activism in environmental protection – we arrived at our destination by bus, not by plane, despite the long and tiring journey.

Associations

In addition to cooperative projects around the world, various associations have formed to also educate and publicize the need to protect our Earth. E.g., one person we interviewed responded that he belongs to an organization called Greenproject Italia. They offer eco-friendly and organic products for cleaning the home, as well as personal hygiene ones.

Another organization is WWF – World Wide Fund for Nature. This is an international non-governmental organization working to protect endangered animal species and valuable natural places around the world.

Education at school and at home

Most of those who took part in our survey acknowledged that education plays a very important role in shaping pro-environmental attitudes/behavior, provided that it takes place from the earliest years of the citizen in question. Italians have a subject on ecology at school which contributes to this. They pay a lot of attention to education from the early school years, because they will be the generation on which the future of the whole Earth will depend. At home, on the other hand, children play ecological games with the whole family and learn how to separate trash and be good to the planet.

Spreading the problem in the region

How is awareness about climate change being spread among the residents?

-advertisements: ubiquitously visible as well as hard to miss, ads aim to educate the population in the easiest way possible for them.

-store scales: urges people to eat 5 servings of fruit a day.

-buses: some run on electricity to minimize carbon dioxide production.

-green Udine: large number of trees, flowers and parks contrasts with other cities in Italy.

-environmental services: tailoring services – it is better for the environment to repair rather than buy new.
