GREEKS ASKED ABOUT CIVIC ACTIVISM - YOU ‘LL BE SURPRISED!

As a part of the project Erasmus+,
we conducted a street survey with people of Greece about civic activism

Most commonly mentioned protest was by far the one about Tempi train crash. 28th January 2023 dozens of innocent young people lost their lives. Among the surveyed the people in their twenties were the most touched by the catastrophe who were related to the victims.

Greeks can be deeply engaged in country affairs. Mourning people of Greece went to the streets to voice their support. The youth eagerly took part in protests.

CHANGING CURRENCY - FOR BETTER OR WORSE?

Other topic was change of currency to euro. The majority of Greeks thought that it brings stability and help with globalization. At first the change to Hellenes was harsh but everyone got used to it fast.
